Simon Gould honoured with CICA Excellence Award
Prime Creative Media is proud to celebrate Simon Gould, Editor of Cranes and Lifting, who has been recognised with a CICA Excellence Award at the 2025 Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) Conference.
This prestigious accolade highlights Simon’s unwavering dedication and outstanding contribution to Australia’s crane industry.
With more than two decades of experience in the construction sector, Simon has led Cranes and Lifting since 2017, shaping it into one of the country’s most trusted and influential industry publications.
Under his leadership, the magazine continues to provide in-depth coverage of the latest projects, innovations, and safety standards that define the crane sector today.
Beyond his editorial achievements, Simon has played a vital role in fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing within the industry.
As a regular moderator and facilitator at CICA’s National Conferences, he has brought together industry leaders to discuss key issues – from safety and workforce development to the challenges and opportunities driving the future of lifting operations.
“Being awarded the CICA Excellence Award was a complete surprise and a humbling experience,” said Simon.
“When you are busy managing monthly deadlines, you can lose focus on the bigger picture and the contribution you are actually making to the greater industry.
“The award was of course, accepted on behalf of the Cranes and Lifting team, my partners in crime, Business Development Manager Emily Schlegel and Assistant Editor Danny D’Cruze, and the magnificent team behind the scenes at Prime Creative Media.
“My one regret is that I didn’t find the magazine and the crane industry earlier in my career, but we are all here now! Booms Up.”
“Simon’s professionalism, passion, and ability to connect with people across the industry make him an invaluable part of both Cranes and Lifting and the broader crane community,” said Prime Creative Media Chief Executive Officer Christine Clancy.
“This award is a fitting recognition of his ongoing contribution to the sector.”
Congratulations Simon on this well-deserved honour!
