Prime Creative Media’s headquarters wins architecture award

Prime Creative Media’s new headquarters, part of the Escala development and located at 379 Docklands Drive, has been awarded the prestigious High Density Development Award for 2022.

The Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) awarded the prize to the MAB Corporation for the development that Prime Creative Media’s Melbourne team moved into in October 2022.

Prime Creative Media occupies the full office area of the complex, with its team housed in 1200 square metres of office space spread across three floors.

“The entire office area, which houses innovative mezzanine design, has been acquired by one company,” the UDIA noted in a statement, in reference to Prime Creative Media.

The UDIA also highlighted the swimming pool, spa, gym facilities and rooftop garden accessible to Prime Creative Media team members. “On level 6 there are a range of facilities that can be used by residents or office workers,” it noted.

The award was given to MAB Corporation not only for its great use of shared space, but also for the aesthetics of what is one of Melbourne’s newest and most modern office buildings. “The architects, Six Degrees, have created great intricacy in their designs,” the UDIA noted. “For example, 27 façade types and interesting features such as their stained glass.”

The new headquarters for Prime Creative Media is a major step in the company’s growth, which now employs more than 150 media professionals, publishing 45 magazines and more than 50 digital platforms, and organises 12+ major expos and events every year. The facility sets a new benchmark for office work environments and is a key element in Prime Creative Media’s strategy to hire, train and retain the top talent in the industry.
