Hunter Valley Mining Expo to debut in 2027

Prime Creative Media is thrilled to share that a new mining industry event is coming to the Hunter Valley, with the Hunter Valley Mining Expo set to take place on 19–20 May 2027 at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.

It’s the latest mining industry event from the team behind the Queensland Mining and Engineering Expo (QME), WA Mining Conference and Exhibition (WA Mining), Asia-Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX) and PNG Industrial and Mining Resources Exhibition and Conference.

The new event, purpose-built for the Hunter Valley, will provide a dedicated platform for one of Australia’s most significant mining regions.

The expo will focus on the key challenges and opportunities shaping the local industry, delivering practical insights, solution-focused content and discussion around the transformation of the coal sector.

Prime Creative Media Show Director – Mining Events Rebecca Todesco said the event was launched in response to strong industry demand.

“We saw a clear need for a dedicated mining event for the Hunter Valley, a region that plays such a critical role in Australia’s resources sector,” Todesco said.

“The scale, capability and future of this region deserve a platform that brings the industry together to connect, share knowledge and drive progress.”

The inaugural event will feature a curated exhibition across six key industry verticals, showcasing technologies, services and innovations designed to improve operational performance across the mining lifecycle.

Running alongside the exhibition, a two-day conference program will bring together industry experts to share technical insights, practical strategies and forward-looking perspectives for mining operations navigating change and planning for the future.

“We’re focused on creating real value for attendees and exhibitors, from practical insights they can take back to site, to genuine business and networking opportunities for people within the Hunter region,” Todesco said.

A dedicated Mining Pavilion will also highlight regional organisations and industry associations, while networking opportunities throughout the event will provide attendees with opportunities to connect and do business.

Backed by Prime Creative Media’s portfolio of mining events and industry publications, the Hunter Valley Mining Expo will be supported by a comprehensive marketing and content campaign targeting decision-makers, technical specialists and industry leaders.

The event has already received strong backing from industry, with a number of sponsors coming on board already, and it is expected to become a key event on the Australian mining calendar.
