Australia’s Richest Barista Competitors announced

Australia’s Richest Barista competitors have been announced and now are preparing to compete at Melbourne International Coffee Expo.

On August 17-19, Melbourne International Coffee Expo will host inaugural Australia’s Richest Barista, which will see professional baristas compete to test their abilities and skills throughout three rounds.

Baristas will have the chance to win a share of AU$40,000 prize pool, the richest cash prize on offer for a barista competition final anywhere in the world. The winner will receive AU$25,000, the runner- up takes home AU$10,000, and the third place wins AU$5000.

“The competition is designed as a fast-paced, knock-out style event that tests each barista’s sensory and practical skills,” says Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) Show Director Lauren Winterbottom.

There are 32 competitors preparing for the competition. “We wish all our baristas the best of luck. This could be the start of something big – for their career and their hip pocket,” Lauren says.
