Italianicious at the Norton Street Italian Festa

This year the Norton Street Italian Festa, held annually in Leichardt, Sydney, celebrated its 25th anniversary and Italianicious was at the event to join in the festivities. It is the largest and longest running Italian Festa in Australia.

Held on Sunday, 30 October, this year’s event drew in large crowds. A real life wedding at the ‘Marostica Castle’ in the park was a highlight of the event. The wedding took place after the ‘Living Chess Match’ and was followed by a performance by dancers dressed in traditional Italian costume.

Also popular was the ‘Nonni Cantina’ event, where Italian grandmothers living in Sydney were given the opportunity to show off their culinary talent.

The street was also lined with countless stalls featuring Italian regional food, fashion and merchandise.
