Gram magazine acquisition

Posted on: July 31st, 2011

On 29 July, Melbourne based Prime Creative Media acquired its latest magazine title – Gram magazine. Compiling food and drink based blogs from Melbourne’s food scene, Gram magazine is a free monthly publication that does away with traditional magazine formats. Instead, it provides a snapshot of articles, opinions and reviews that have been published online by local food bloggers. It brings the online food experience to the print format, and in doing so, promotes this online sphere to a broader audience.

Melbourne’s food blogging community is wide and diverse, yet all bloggers featured in the magazine have one thing in common – they all aim to promote food and beverages in a positive light. The magazine aims to represent what is being published online, including where people are eating, what they are cooking and what they are enjoying so that readers can make up their own minds about what’s hot and what’s not.

Gram magazine has proven itself as one of the new wave of Melbourne’s publishing trailblazers, through the use of TAG code technology. Available for download as an iPhone app, it connects the reader with both advertisers and bloggers in a dynamic real-time interaction not previously possible with the print medium.

Publisher John Murphy is pleased with the company’s the latest acquisition.

“Gram magazine will fit in nicely at Prime Creative Media as we are actively looking for innovation and creative concepts in the publishing environment. This industry is changing rapidly and you can only stay at the forefront if you are moving fast and understanding the needs of the market. Gram magazine is not only bridging the gap between online and print but also cultivating and promoting the thriving foodie blogs that are quite dynamic and have become an influential voice in Melbourne’s food scene.

“We believe that our CAB audited distribution throughout Melbourne hits the food loving community spot on. The free press model is perfect for this particular demographic as Melburnian’s are renowned as avid cafe and restaurant goers and Gram has been accepted as part of this scene with open arms. The inclusion of TAG codes also add a crucial element that is not only great for the reader but also helps to promote the advertisers and bloggers that contribute to the publication’s content.”

Gram Magazine is distributed to over 1000 outlets in prominent Melbourne strips and venues in Melbourne’s CBD and inner city suburbs including Brunswick, Carlton, Collingwood, Docklands, East Melbourne, Fitzroy, Flemington, Kensington, North Melbourne, Port Melbourne, Richmond, Southbank, South Yarra, South Melbourne, St Kilda and West Melbourne. With a CAB audited circulation of over 20,000, this title is delivered directly to its target audience – the Melbourne food-loving community. The publication will be managed and edited by Prime Creative Media’s Danielle Gullaci who has been the editor of several Prime Creative Media titles, including Italianicious magazine.
